when you mentioned New Orleans, I remembered reading about an Alexander Sinclair
who originally came from Islay, emigrated to Ontario, near Toronto, died in
New Orleans, and his family brought his body back to Ontario for burial.

Does this legend sound familiar to you?  Although this is not my family branch,
I do have some information about them, and I have been curious about this 
travelling Sinclair.
