Re: Who are the Lairds?
Leir in Norwegan is Lera in Swedish and does not translate to anything
else but clay. You will find more than one town/village (and surnames)
in Scandinavia called somethin that ends or begin with Leir eller Lera.
It's origen is not more far fetched than the fact that most of our
towns/villages was named in a way that would describe not only the town
but also the nature upon wich the town was built.
Best regards
Lena
