I have a William Sinclair, born abt 1856 in Lafayette County,
MS. He had a brother named Noah born abt 1858, also in Lafayette County,
MS. I know nothing about their whereabouts or marriages--only that they
were in Lafayette County, MS in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. I would like
to have any additional information you can provide to confirm if this is the
correct William A. Sinclair.
The parents of William and Noah were Jefferson and Candice R.
Sinclair. Jefferson Sinclair was born about 1830 in Hinds County,
Mississippi and was the son of Anderson Sinclair and Hester McMillan.
Anderson Sinclair was born about 1800 and was the son of Noah Sinclair.
[This is the only family line in which I have seen the name
"Noah."] Noah Sinclair was the son of Peter Sinclair of Chatham
County, North Carolina. Peter Sinclair, born about 1740,was a son of David
Sinclair of Brunswick County, Virginia. Peter gave patriotic service
during the Revolutionary War.
