Genealogy question - Allan family

HI All,

I am trying to solve a puzzle over a confussion in researching my family 
line.

Does anyone know of a Caithness comnection with a Sinclair and Allan 
family???
I have information of a Robert and Magnus Allan whose brother in law was a 
William Sinclair. All three spent time Boatbuilding in New Zealand.

Also an Ebenezer Sinclair born Caithness 1829 married to a Catherine Bain. - 
but the article also called her Catherine HArper.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
