    I remember the story of the elderly lady who asked her granddaughter who 
someone was.  The granddaughter told her their name.  The grandmother said 
that she did not ask their name, but who they were.

    That is the information that I want, too.  I find relatives all the time 
in my area who do not know who they are until I tell them.  We have been here 
since at least 1824.  It is shocking to find people who do not know their 
grandmother's maiden name, even though they knew their grandmother for 
several years.
