William Sinclair, Bishop of Dunkeld and Sir William Wallace
Hello!
In the Scottish Banner newspaper for December 2001 on Page 25 there is
an excellent article entitled "William Wallace Saint and Martyr?". It talks
about a book published by Alloway Publishing, Darvel, Ayrshire, Scotland in
1999 entitled In Pursuit of Sir William Wallace. It was written by Craufuird
C. Loudoun. This book describes the efforts of William Sinclair, Bishop of
Dunkeld, a close friend of Wallace, to have Wallace made a saint in the Roman
Catholic Church. William Sinclair petitioned the Pope to have Sir William
Wallace made a saint between 1309 and 1336 A.D.
Sincerely,
