Re: Sir John Sinclair's History of the Revenue.
Dear Sinclair:
I have a post card of the famous Raeburn portrait of Sir John in front of me
as I type this. It was purchased by my father in Scotland at the National
Gallery in 1972. It is part of my collection of Sir Johniana.
It says:
RAEBURN SIR JOHN SINCLAIR
National Gallery of Scotland
and aside from the rather formal:
"This space may be used for printed or written matter" &
"The Address only to be written here"
there is nothing else... no "James" no "Jamie" ..... nada, bupkis.
Rory
