Scottish Christmas Walk Parade Alexandria, Virginia December 7, 2002

       Under sunny skies and with warm temperatures, 140 different groups 
marched in the 32nd Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade through the 
colonial section of Alexandria, Virginia on Saturday, December 7, 2002.  The 
oldest Scots city in America, Alexandria was founded in 1749.  This parade 
has been rated by Southern Living Magazine as one of the premier cultural 
attractions in the southeastern United States.
         The colonial section of Alexandria was decorated with tartan colors 
and the flag of Scotland, various types of American flags, Christmas greenery 
and holiday decorations.  The Clan Sinclair was represented in moderate 
numbers this year by Susan M. Grady, Budd Ginn and the Tom Sinclair family.  
The only Clan Sinclair member in full tartan regalia, Ms. Grady proudly 
carried a model of one of Prince Henry Sinclair's ships.  Brochures that Ms. 
Grady had xeroxed about the Clan Sinclair were distributed to interested 
people who were watching the parade.  A banner for the Scottish Exploration 
of America by Prince Henry Sinclair was carried in front of the ship model.  
The crowds were very excited to learn about Prince Henry Sinclair and his 
historic voyage.   It is always a very moving experience to participate in 
this parade.
