   1066:  William  I, [2]William the Conqueror crowned King of England in
   Westminster Abbey.

   1332: Battle of Annan, [3].

   1926:  Emperor  Hirohito, Michinomiya Hirohito, posthumous name Showa,
   emperor  of  Japan  from  1926  until  his  death  in 1989. He was the
   longest-reigning  monarch  in  Japan's  history.  An  unconvicted  war
   criminal.
