Well, no, Johannes Gutenberg was a 15th century figure who lived from
1400(?) - 1470(?) and is credited with inventing movable type about
mid-century.  1454 is the traditional date given for this transforming
technology, as I recall.  Clearly after Prince Henry's voyage, but, ahem,
well before that Columbus guy.
But as for that, neither Henry nor CC was first across the Atlantic, right?
