I suppose that since my last name, St. Clair, is observedly more close to the name St. Clarus, I
see more of a connection to the family namesake than others of the Clan. If our clan arose in
the town of St. Clair sur Epte, then the way that town got its name should be of some interest
to us. Who is related to or descended from whom is, of course, of central interest to all of
us. That does not imply, I think, that other items of collateral interest need be ignored.
Witness the interest in the name topic on this mailing list! John St. Clair.
