Re: Ships - Rosslin Castle etc
I have just found this information on this ships.....
Rosslyn Castle was also recorded as Roslin Castle due to later ships
being
spelt the second way:
Dates it arrived in Australia carrying convicts and where the ship
departed
from.
Roslin Castle 29 June 1830 Downs
5 Feb 1833 Cork
15 Sept 1834 London
25 Feb 1836 Cork
There has been more than one ship known as Roslin Castle. The convict
indents record one as Rosslyn Castle but thereafter it is spelt Roslin
Castle.
This ship was apparently a barque and was shipwrecked in 1848 when it
shifted ballast in a storm and put into Gaspe.

Construction: Bristol; vessel 8 years old (1828)
Owners: Skeddens (1828); Kains (1828-29)
Draught under load: 18 feet
Port of survey: London
Voyage: sailed for Jamaica (1828); New South Wales (1829)
