John Sinclair, Pony Express Rider, 1860-1

The information was taken from an article "Pony Express" by Beth Mullinax
in The Septs Vol. 17, No. 2.
It was sent to me by Chris Melahn of Kailua, HI.

Was born about 1841-2. Between April 3, 1860 and October 1861 he was a
Pony Express rider. Young, Skinny, Wiry fellows, not over eighteen who
were expert riders, and willing to risk death daily were hired. Orphans
preferred. Wages were $25 per week. John Sinclair is listed along with
William Cody
in the
Pony Express Museum
at St. Joseph, MO. "To date,
company records have never been found. The list of riders has been compiled
from various sources, including accounts from people who knew riders,
relatives of riders and newspapers. The list is not considered to be
complete nor have all of the names been confirmed."
