Sinclairs in Norway
Rollo also had King problems back in Norway, which was one reason he was a-Viking. He didn't care for the new-found power of the first King of Norway Harold I Fairhair (c.850-c.933), who reigned 872-c.933, even though Rollo's father Rogenvald the Mighty, Earl of Orkney and also Earl of More in Norway, was instrumental in putting Harald on the throne. Sinclairs are perhaps best remembered in Norway for the the Battle of Kringom, which George Sinclair of Caithness lost in 1612 to the Norwegians. Last changed: 99/11/21 14:36:17 ![]() |
